POSITION: BRANCH MANAGER/PERRY BRANCH
REPORTS TO: BRANCH COORDINATOR
SUPERVISES: BRANCH STAFF
FLSA STATUS: SALARIED EXEMPT
SUMMARY: To direct platform and teller activity to ensure the smooth orderly operation of the teller line and related functions. Maintains records of vault and teller station cash balances and oversees currency accounts. Ensures the branch remains in compliance with the financial institutions policies and procedures.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Four-year college degree or equivalent banking industry experience.
- Minimum of one-year experience in the Banking industry in a retail branch environment.
- Personal leadership skills.
- Ability to maintain composure under pressure and work independently.
- Has the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong Initiative.
- Good communication skills.
- Able to motivate a team.
SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Oversees all tellers; provides input to and may participate in teller appraisal process.
- Performs assistance to tellers, CSRs and Head Tellers as is required.
- Maintains and oversees the balance of the vault and ATM daily.
- Oversees/processes correspondent bank functions – cash shipments/orders.
- Provides on-the-job training/coaching for tellers on an as-needed basis. Monitors tellers to ensure compliance with financial institution procedures and policies. Issues written and oral instructions on teller operations as necessary.
- Ensures each teller balances every day; also provides assistance in locating cash discrepancies; and ensures that all differences are properly initialed and, if required, reported to the appropriate parties.
- Manages unusual window transactions and answers difficult customer questions.
- Receives loan payments, inspects negotiable instruments and cash offered for payment, and enters payments received into financial institution computer records.
- Performs a variety of customer service transactions, such as account holds, stop-payment orders, direct deposits, and check confirmation.
- Cross-sells and/or refers Bank’s products and services such as safe deposit boxes, etc. to customers and prospects.
- Ensures that the appearance of the teller area and personnel are neat, organized, and in accordance with Bank policy. Any violations of policies should be reported to Human Resources.
- Ensures that all negotiable and confidential records in the work area are properly secured each day.
- Assists with recruits, hires, promotions, performance appraisals, salary recommendations, counseling, disciplinary actions, and employment recommendations.
- Assists in answering the telephone and transferring calls to the appropriate personnel.
- Assists in other areas of the financial institution during peak business hours, when needed (i.e. teller, customer service representative, etc.)
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Participates in required annual BSA/AML training
- Complies with BSA/AML policies and procedures including identifying and reporting suspicious activity and other job specific duties related to BSA.
